GumGum Celebrates AAPI Month 🎉
May marks the beginning of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month and we are excited to invite you to join us in celebrating! As a company, we are committed to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and we believe that AAPI Heritage Month is an important occasion to recognize the many contributions and influences the Asian American and Pacific Islander community has had and continues to have in US history and culture.
Throughout the month of May, we have a variety of virtual events and activities planned to showcase the rich history, culture, and achievements of the AAPI community. We would like to invite you to participate in these events with us and come celebrate together as a team. Our AAPI Heritage Month programming includes the following events:
Thursday, May 11 at 2 pm - 3 pm PT: AAPI Month Trivia with GoGames (RSVP Here)
Thursday, May 25 at 2 pm - 3 pm: Boba Making Workshop (RSVP Here)
Wednesday, May 31 at 12 pm PT: Guest Speaker: Korean War Baby
Starting Wednesday, May 7th, we will Spotlight one team member who identifies as Asian American/Pacific Islander each week. During AAPI Heritage Month, a total of 4 employees will be spotlighted on the GumGum Connect site.
Last week, we invited you to submit songs from your favorite AAPI artists to help build our collaborative Spotify playlist. Please continue submitting as many songs as you would like for everyone at GumGum to enjoy!
In the #gg-travels slack channel, we are encouraging team members to share their travel experiences of Asian and Pacific Islander countries or cities you’ve traveled to - to promote cultural awareness of these beautiful places and share more about the culture you experienced while visiting.
Finally, we are excited to announce that we have a uniquely designed AAPI Zoom background, email signature, and social media assets that we would like to share with you. We encourage you to use them as we continue to celebrate all month (and year) long.
